Dove Club donates to family seeking medical assistance

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Dove Club, the local support group of the World Paediatric Project, last week made a donation to one of the families currently overseas seeking medical assistance.

Sister Jacqueline Browne-King, on behalf of the Club, presented a cash donation to Tashica Hamilton, the mother of Jahvante Hamilton, both of whom are now in Richmond, Virginia,{{more}} where the seven-year-old will have a cataract in his left eye removed.

King, in making the presentation, said that one of the responsibilities of the Club is to provide support for families through fund-raising efforts such as a thanksgiving tea, which was held last year under the auspices of the Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne.

Hamilton thanked King and the Dove Club for their kind gesture and vowed to join the league of supporters on their return from the UnIted States.

The World Paediatric Project has been providing medical assistance to thousands of children from St Vincent and the Grenadines and other parts of the Caribbean for more than a decade.
