Guadalupe Home for Girls gets sweet treat from Courts
Saylene Dopwell, the director of the Guadalupe Home for Girls at Cane End, Marriaqua, is thanking God for the blessings bestowed on them through furniture and appliance store Courts.
Last week, commercial manager Lisa Veira delivered a cheque valued at $5,500 to the home, being proceeds from the storeâs âSweet Retreatâ bedding promotion that took place last month.{{more}}
During the campaign, part of the proceeds from every purchase of a bed or bed accessories was directed to a fund for a local charity, in this case the Home.
Veira said that the gesture was part of her companyâs corporate social responsibility programme, in which they identify institutions and find a way to help to bring value to the institution.
âI must say a special âthank youâ to our loyal customers, who not only took part in our promotion but also participated in helping an institution in need.
âWe value our customers, and we deeply appreciate them helping us to help others,â Veira said.
Dopwell also thanked Courts and its customers for making the donation possible.
âThis contribution comes at an appropriate and fitting time for the Guadalupe Home for Girls. We see this as truly a blessing and we would like to thank God for using Courts and their customers for making it possible.
âA gesture like this will go a long way in making the lives of the girls we have under our care a bit more comfortable, and I canât say enough how thankful we are for this.â
Dopwell echoed her call for other businesses to follow in the footsteps of Courts and other corporate entities, in donating cash and kind to the Home.
