“There is a lot of work that needs to be done to get KFC up and running as we have very high standards and intend to do it right from the start. We ask that the public remain patient while we work to get our beloved KFC restaurants open as quickly as possible,” said Glass.

According to the release, the new franchisees have not yet set a date for the opening of the KFC restaurants in St Vincent, however, they have said that they will not be open for carnival this year, as there is not enough time to prepare. They intend to open each store separately as “there is a lot of work that needs to be put in.”

An open call for all vacancies for KFC has been set for Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Blue Lagoon Hotel in Ratho Mill. The release said all applicants are welcome to attend.

The local KFC franchise had been owned for 29 years by St Clair Investments, whose managing director is well known businessman Ormiston “Ken” Boyea. On March 9, 2015, the doors of the franchise’s three restaurants in St Vincent were closed by receivers appointed by the Bank of Nova Scotia.
