Local Garifuna to discuss honorary citizenship issue

With the issue of honorary citizenship for the Garinagu diaspora a hot topic at the moment, the local Garifuna Heritage Foundation is preparing to weigh in on the matter.

Speaking to SEACRHLIGHT on Wednesday, president of the organization David ‘Darkie’ Williams said that members were scheduled to meet yesterday to come to a collective stance on the issue.{{more}}

Williams declined to share his personal view on the matter, as he did not want it to be mistaken for the view of the organization, without first having a group consultation.

He said that as soon as he and the other members of the organization have thoroughly discussed the matter, their stance will be made public. (JSV)
