Coastguard Youth Development Summer Programme to commence July 13

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Coastguard Service, in collaboration with the Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines (BOSVG) and Sagicor Life Inc, will commence its annual Youth Development Summer Programme on Monday, July 13, 2015.

The programme caters for participants between the ages 14-18 years, and covers subjects such as: Safety at Sea, Seamanship, Navigation, Conflict Resolution, Substance Abuse and Prevention,{{more}} Personal Development and various educational field outings.

The programme, which is in its 22nd year, will be conducted in three phases: Phase One: July 13 – 21; Phase Two July 23 – 31; and Phase Three August 3 – 11, 2015.

Since its inception the programme has educated over 2,232 of our nation’s youth. This year, the programme will be held under the theme “Shaping our Youth for Life’s High Seas.”

Forms can be collected at the Coastguard Base by parents/guardians between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday, June 8. These forms are being distributed on a first come first serve basis.
