Wright to represent SVG at talent showcase in The Bahamas

Having been selected by a reknowned Bahamian talent scout, local singer/songwriter extraordinaire Adrian Wright will be representing St Vincent and the Grenadines at the inaugural Music and Model Talent Showcase of the Islands in July.

Wright, who is eagerly anticipating {{more}}taking part in this showcase, has been involved with the creative arts since age five — having had his talent nurtured by his mother, Angela Joseph.

He will represent SVG as a songwriter and music producer, and will also be involved in commercial print at the week-long event, which is scheduled to take place in The Bahamas July 13 – 19.

Agents from various sectors of the regional and international entertainment industry will be present at the showcase; and Wright will have the opportunity to exhibit his work, with the possibility of scooping a record deal with a major record label.

Wright is seeking sponsorship toward the event, and is making an appeal for assistance from both the public and private sectors, and can be contacted at (784) 434-6517.

“I would like to thank all my fans and friends for their continuous support and encouragement over the years since I first started in 1999,” he enthused. “Everyone that believes in me and helped me thus far on my journey, thank you!”

Wright recently released a new single ‘Jealousy’, which also has a music video that was filmed at various locations locally. It can be viewed on Youtube and local channels SVG TV, VC3 and IKTV, and was directed and edited by Prographix Video and Graphics Design Studio.

Over the years, Wright has written and produced a wide variety of songs, having worked with music producers such as Shane Daniel, Zowi Stapleton, Kenneth Arlene, Junior Sutherland, Mark Cyrus, Curtis Wright and Adrian Bailey.

He has also participated in various local and international song and poetry contests. In 2012, he was awarded Young Poet of the Year by the Vincentian Association of Artists, Writers and Producers.

His other achievements include: first place in the 2004 Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Constitutional Review Committee’s Poetry Contest, with his poem entitled ‘The Constitution’; in 2005, recorded ‘You & Me’ at Master Room Studio, and entered it in the SVG Music Festival and the VH1 International Song Contest — winning third place in the music festival, and receiving honorary mention in the VH1 International Song Contest.

Additionally, in 2007, he won second place in the National Broadcasting Corporation’s Dub and Rap Contest; and in 2009, placed third in Song and Poetry at the SVG Gospel Fest.(JSV)
