Tourism visitor arrivals up

Tourism Statistics, as related to visitors, are up, though slightly.

On Wednesday, during a press conference, chief executive officer (CEO) of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) Glen Beache said that at the end of 2014 “stats were up, barely.”

According to Beache, January stats say that stay over visits are up by 9.8 per cent and same day visits are also up, albeit 5.6 per cent.{{more}} Yacht visits are up 10.3 per cent and cruise ship visits are up 9.75 per cent, while overall visits are up 9.8 per cent.

Visits from the USA are up 0.3 per cent, while visits from Canada are up 15 per cent. Visits from Trinidad are up 5.4 per cent and the UK 17.8 per cent.

“These are some good results and I hope that it continues,” said Beache.
