Chief executive officer (CEO) of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) Glen Beache spoke of the listing during a press conference on Wednesday.
âWe are happy about that,â said Beache, who opined that from the international level, âpeople canât get enough of us.â
The CNN article states, âFor years, travellers wanting to visit the beautiful islands of St Vincent and the Grenadines have had to fly to Barbados before taking a flight to ET Joshua Airport in Kingstown, on the island of St Vincent.
âHowever, later this year Argyle International Airport will finally open, allowing passengers to fly direct to the islands from North America and beyond.
âThis means not only better access to St Vincent but to the smaller islands like Palm Island, Union Island and Bequia.â
Beache said that when this country was listed by the New York Times as one of the best destinations, Opposition Senator St Clair Leacock commented that âwe wrote it and put it, but I did not know we had that much power to write for the New York Times and now power to write for CNN.â
Beache said that persons must realize that placing an advertisement is different from when a journalist writes a feature article.
