‘Major transition’ in Sagicor’s representation in SVG
As a new general agent for Sagicor Life Inc takes over representation locally, the companyâs vice-president assures the public that the âstellar representationâ set out by the general agentâs predecessor will continue.
At a press conference last Thursday, Sagicor Life Incâs vice-president DT Vigo {{more}}announced that Syd Hazell (Independent Agencies Ltd) has handed over local agency representation to Stanley V Browne, of SV Browne Agencies Ltd
âWe are confident that under Mr Browneâs leadership⦠the stellar representation that was provided by Mr Hazell and his company will continue for Sagicor Life,â insisted Vigo.
âAlthough Mr Hazell has handed over the mantle of representation, he is not leaving the insurance business.â
Vigo explained that Hazell will continue to provide support to the new general agent, and thanked him for his âoutstanding service and leadershipâ to the company since 1986.
The change, which took effect on January 1, 2015, was a âsmooth transitionâ for the insurance company, as it had been many years in the making, with Browne having worked closely with Hazell for some time.
Browne also expressed his thanks to Hazell for his âsignificantâ contributions, identifying him as not only a âstrong playerâ in the Sagicor brand, but also in the wider insurance industry.
Browne also described his new appointment as an âhonourâ, and pointed out that it is an âexcitingâ time to be on the companyâs team with all the changes that are being made.
âWe [SV Browne Agencies Ltd] are well positioned in St Vincent to continue to be the main player, and we will do anything possible to continue to build on the legacy that was laid by Mr Hazellâ¦â
Hazell noted that he is âvery pleasedâ to pass the torch to Browne, and he is confident that his successor will take Sagicor to âhigher heightsâ locally.
âI know Mr Browne has the skill, the capacity and the vision to further the interests of Sagicor and its image in St Vincent.â
