âMay they be one Father, as You are in Me and I in youâ was the theme for the 5th Annual SJCM Elite Business Club Annual Retreat, which took place at the St Josephâs Convent Kingstown lecture hall.
Over 60 members of the Club, along with the CEO and assisting teachers, gathered for the retreat on Saturday, March 7, which was presented by Sr Martha Sebastien SJC, a past student of the school.
Sr Martha made presentations on the anniversary year theme of âCelebrating our journey â pursuing excellence in all thingsâ and âMay they all be oneâ. A deep sense of reflection and stillness could be seen as the Elites paid close attention to the content of the presentations, after which they were given questions for group reflection and sharing.
After lunch there was a period of guided meditation by J Mofford, one of the Clubâs assisting teachers, to still the minds and hearts of those present. This no doubt led persons into a deeper more meaningful relationship with Jesus. The members then had their annual photo shoot, at which their official club photo for the year was taken.
It was then the time for the anticipated climax of the retreat â the prayer ministry session, which was led by the Clubâs chief executive officer and founder. The members were led in praise and worship by a trio, while prayers were said for the group as a whole.
After this, there was a long line, as everyone present came forward to be prayed with and for by the founder â a moment which brought some members to tears, as the Holy Spirit was moving in a powerful way in that place. The retreat concluded with the celebration of Holy Mass for the 3rd Sunday of Lent by Fr Alando Williams, who delivered a thought-provoking sermon on the Ten Commandments and the way we live our Christian lives.
