Bequia Youth Reading Club receives welcome addition

Bequia youth gathered around a sunlit table at the Fig Tree Restaurant on Admiralty Bay’s waterfront on February 15.

Gary Hooper, a Canadian, who last year volunteered at the reading programme and promised to do a session on basic electricity, gave a three-week hands on science lesson.{{more}}

Learning about positive and negative charges, magnetic forces and real life applications, the girls and boys received numerous insights. This was a welcome addition to the regular Bequia Youth Reading Club meetings. Founded in 2007, the weekly meetings offer community youth a chance to improve reading and comprehension skills, broaden their minds and have fun in a safe setting.
