Relocation of the hospital services to Evesham took effect on Wednesday, February 25 and is estimated to last 18 months, while the clinic services formerly offered at the health centre will be available on the ground floor of the Mesopotamia Magistrate’s Court, with effect from Monday, March 2, 2015, during the said period.

A release from the Ministry of Health said if anyone needs clinic services before Monday, they may access them up to today, Friday, February 27 at the Calder, Richland Park and Evesham Health Centres.

The clinic will be operational during regular working hours from Monday to Friday, with nurses also on call on weekends. Additionally, an ambulance will be stationed at the Evesham Health Centre and will be available to citizens in cases of emergency. The telephone numbers remain the same and are: Mesopotamia Clinic (458-5245) and Evesham Health Clinic and Hospital (451-3155).

“Upon completion of the polyclinic, residents of Mesopotamia and the surrounding communities will benefit from a new and upgraded medical facility, which will be outfitted with X ray and Physiotherapy services, a new and improved pharmacy, counselling services, new doctors’ and nurses’ quarters, thereby allowing the health professionals to take up permanent residence at the facility, a Pediatric Unit, and an Ophthalmology room, among other things,” the release said.
