Workshop aims to improve Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS) in SVG

The Animal Health and Production Division (AHPD) in the Ministry of Agriculture, in conjunction with the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), is hosting a three-day workshop on Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS).{{more}}

The workshop, which began yesterday, will run until Wednesday, February 25 and is taking place at NEMO’s Headquarters, Old Montrose.

LEGS are a set of international guidelines and standards that can be used for the design, implementation and assessment of livestock interventions.

The aim of the training is to build capacity to support the saving of lives and livelihood among livestock owning communities affected by disasters.

The three-day event is bringing together livestock specialists with little humanitarian experience and humanitarian specialists with little livestock experience.
