Miss SVG 2015 date set for May 30

This year the Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines pageant will be held on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 8 p.m. at the usual venue, the Victoria Park.

Also, this year the Miss Carival pageant, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary (the first staging was in 1985), will be on Friday, July 3, also at the Victoria Park.{{more}}

Meanwhile, members of the media have been invited by the Carnival Development Corporation’s (CDC) Beauty Shows Committee to meet the Miss SVG pageant contestants at the Young Island Resorts Limited on Saturday, May 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

“We remain grateful to your management and staff for the invaluable contribution which you make to our organization from year to year and specifically to Miss SVG and Miss Carival,” said chairperson of the Beauty Shows Committee Cheryl Rodriguez this week in a media release.

Rodriguez said that for the Miss SVG show, eight contestants will grace the stage, while for Miss Carival pageant, nine contestants are expected to arrive in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday, June 29 and leave on Saturday, July 4.

“There will be a total of 10 contestants for Miss Carival, including Miss SVG 2015. On Tuesday June 30, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., media will be allowed to meet the Miss Carival contestants,” said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said that the media will soon be provided with an arrival schedule of Miss Carival contestants and chaperones, while a programme of activities for both pageants and copies of biographies and photographs of contestants will soon be released.

Chief executive officer at the CDC Ashford Wood says, “we are looking forward to working with you, the media, again in the interest of our largest cultural festival in St Vincent and the Grenadines.”
