Spotlight on Karen Hinds’ Phenomenal Woman Conference 2015

Spotlight on Karen Hinds’ Phenomenal Woman Conference 2015

Four years ago, I had this crazy idea that we could put on an event in St Vincent and the Grenadines, where companies could send their female employee to gain strategies that will help them be better employees; business owners could get cutting-edge information to increase {{more}}their profits; and the stay-at-home moms or retirees could come and sharpen their personal development skills; and so Karen Hinds’ Phenomenal Woman Conference was born.

I have been thrilled with the response from the business community and women across SVG, the region, and from the US and UK that have found value in this experience. As we prepare for our 2015 programme on April 10 and 11, we expect it to again be another record setting year.  Last year, we added a half-day programme for teen girls 13-17 years old, and we will highlight their programme at a later date.

Let me put two of our guest speakers for Saturday’s programme in the spotlight. Do not miss this opportunity to attend.

Laverne Gibson-Velox: Small communities like St Vincent and the Grenadines can be difficult to navigate if you are not from the right family or you do not have the financial means to live your dreams.  We all have dreams and we are all looking for a way to make them a reality, even when others do not believe in us.  Laverne will share her story in her session titled: “Secrets to Living your Dream and Loving Your Life.”

Laverne is the manager and secretary to the Board of Directors of the St Vincent Co-Operative Bank Limited, a position she has held with much success since 2007. Her appointment was historical in that she was the first female ever to hold the position of bank manager in St Vincent and the Grenadines. She is the third manager of the bank, which began operations in 1945.

She is the wife of Paul Velox and the mother of Luc, who is currently pursuing a degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Derby, and Nia, who attends SUNY Plattsburgh, majoring in Marketing.

It’s a fact that we spend an extraordinary amount of time on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc), but as a business owner are you using those platforms to increase your revenue?  We have an international expert from New York who will share her expertise on how to do just  that.  Her topic is “How to Generate Revenue from Social Network Sites.”

Lena L West is the leading expert on how women entrepreneurs can monetize social media. She is also the founder of InfluenceExpansion.com, the home of the Influence Expansion Academy, the only social media mastermind programme created specifically for women entrepreneurs.

Lena is the winner of several business awards, among them: The Network Journal’s “40 Under Forty,” AlleyCat News’ “25 Women of Silicon Alley,” The Women’s Congress’ Entrepreneurial Champion for Women in Business and was dubbed an “Entrepreneurial Hero” by NCWIT. She has also been featured on CNN, with Gayle King on CBS This Morning, and as the cover story for publications such as The Westchester County Business Journal and Black Enterprise.

If you have never attended one of these conferences, you are in for a life-changing experience.  Tickets are available at Acute Cosmetics and Coreas.  Tickets: Early Bird pricing for Regular Seating $140, Reserved Seating is $150.  After February 27, Regular Seating $150, Reserved Seating $170.

Thanks to all our sponsors:  Digicel, Grenadine House, Searchlight, Fanfare Events, Organization of American States, Acute Cosmetics, Mountain Top Springs Ltd, Grenadines Partnership Fund, IKTV, Healthy Lifestyles.  Learn more at www.karenhinds.com
