Digicel spreads Christmas cheer with special needs

Digicel continues to work with the special needs community in St Vincent and the Grenadines and as a result, the three schools that tutor special needs children have all received visits and gifts from the telecommunications company.{{more}}

Last Friday December 12, the School for Children with Special Needs, Kingstown received a visit from Digicel while on Thursday December 11, the Sunshine School on Bequia got their visit. The School for Children with Special Needs, Georgetown was visited on Wednesday, December 10.

On Friday, principal of the School for Children with Special Needs, Kingstown Nazeem Smith said that they were grateful to Digicel for sharing joy at the school.

She said that the money given to the school by Digicel was used to fund the children’s Christmas party.

“Digicel brought joy and happiness to the kids and we are thankful”, said Smith on Friday.

Meanwhile, last week Thursday, Digicel’s sales manager Fanta Williams headed the trip to Bequia to visit the Sunshine School.

Williams said that the visit was a positive experience for the team as the students displayed talent in various forms including maypole dancing and singing.

She said that Digicel has a strong commitment towards supporting special needs, a pledge that resonates right up to Digicel’s chairman Dennis O’Brien.

“The children were very happy to receive us and they gave us a small show. They are very talented and based on the feedback we got when delivering the gifts, they were happy and we were very grateful to be able to do this,” said Williams.

Meanwhile, during the Wednesday December 10 visit to the School for Children with Special Needs, Georgetown, the eight teachers at the school and the students were given gifts by a team led by marketing manager Juno DeRoche.

DeRoche said that Digicel is committed to bringing the yuletide spirit to all the special needs students in the country.
