More than 20 representatives from various NGOs and other civil society groups across St Vincent and the Grenadines will participate in a two-day workshop next week.{{more}}
Sustainable Grenadines Inc (SusGren) through support from the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Program (GEF-SGP), through the project entitled âTo Strengthen the Capacity of St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ Civil Society Organizationâ will host the workshop from November 20 to 21 at the Fisheries Division conference room.
The workshop comes on the heels of a previous training needs assessment that was conducted with several groups in August of this year to pinpoint the weak areas of groups and prioritize needs as it relates to these areas of weaknesses.
The two-day workshop is aimed at providing the tools and techniques of organizational communication and knowledge management. It is expected that the NGOs and CBOs will use these tools and techniques in their present and future work programmes.
The knowledge management component, which is fairly new to most NGOs and CBOs, will be geared mainly towards information management and its use in enhancing development work.
The workshop will be a mixture of presentations and practical tools and exercises that the organizations can apply immediately. The training will help to strengthen the groupâs ability to effectively communicate, among themselves and the communities they serve and stakeholders.
