Mother appealing for help for her critically ill son
One concerned mother is pleading with the Vincentian public to help her son, who is lying in a critical condition at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).
Lydia Browne visited SEARCHLIGHT yesterday and revealed that her son, Allinford Horne, has been in the intensive care unit of the hospital {{more}}for the last eight days, since receiving a blow to the head, while in the South Rivers mountains.
Browne explained that the 33-year-old was in the forest on October 5 cutting trees, when a limb from one of the trees detached and hit him in the head.
âIâm not giving up. I hope that God will bring him back. I trust in God that he will help to bring him back,â she told SEARCHLIGHT, as she explained her sonâs condition.
The South Rivers resident stated that Horne, who is no longer breathing on his own, has to be flown to Grenada by chartered flight for brain surgery.
Relative of the father of two, Marva McMillan, noted that when she did research, she discovered that chartered flights can cost up to EC$12,000. She further stated that they are waiting on the final estimate for the procedure.
McMillan described Horne as someone who was very helpful and community oriented.
âWhen they had the flood in South Rivers in December, he was the first one to help clean up,â she said.
â[Weâre pleading with] the kind-hearted people out there who are willing to lend a helping hand. Itâs not an easy task to come up with that kind of money to save someoneâs life.â
