On Monday, September 15, Choice Meats, through its brand National Biscuits, gave two EC$500 back to school scholarships to two lucky customers.{{more}}
During a ceremony held at Choice Meats located at Lower Bay Street, manager Sonia Polius handed over the scholarships to Marilyn Garraway of Fair Hall and Julia David, also of Fair Hall.
âI feel good about this small scholarship to the winners. We are a small, but growing company and we like to be able to contribute to the society. We thought it was a good idea around this time where parents sometime struggle to send their kids to school,â said Polius.
She added that Choice Meats distributes National Biscuits, which is a product of Jamaicaâs Continental Baking Company.
The products were launched here back in June and come in the form of, among other biscuits, cream crackers, water crackers sesame seed crackers and wheat crackers.
Garraway said that she entered the scholarship draw when she bought National Biscuit products at Standard Grocery.
âI feel so glad that I bought something and won EC$500. I feel really good. Maybe it was my day and I would encourage people to buy this product,â said Garraway.
Polius revealed that during the months of June to September, persons who purchased National Biscuit products were asked to put their contact information on the receipt and drop it in a box provided at the business places that sell the product.
David said that when she purchased the product and entered the draw she did not expect to win.
âI will continue to buy the product,â she said.
The draws that chose the winners were done on Thursday, September 11 at Choice Meats.
