WTO National Seminar on Sanitary and Phyto Sanitary Measures gets under way

A National Seminar on the World Trade Organization (WTO) Sanitary and Phyto Sanitary Measures Agreement (SPS) opened here yesterday.

The seminar, which is being hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Commerce and Information Technology in collaboration with the WTO,{{more}} has as its objective to increase knowledge and creative awareness of the SPS agreement and its relevance to agricultural trade.

The workshop is being facilitated by Anneke Hamilton of the Agriculture and Commodities Division of the WTO.

The sessions are being held at the Ministry’s conference room from September 8 to 10, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The three-day workshop will cater for two groups: government officials on the 8th and 9th and private sector stakeholders on the 10th.
