In a farewell speech given during a special sitting of the High Court on Wednesday, Thom, a Guyanese, said this country is in the only one in the OECS that provides judges with 24-hour security.

“Throughout my stay here, I have always felt safe. I ask that the Attorney General convey my gratitude to the Government for what they have done for me,” Thom said.

Thom took up official duties as a judge here on May 1, 2005.

She will commence her new post on September 1.

Thom also expressed her gratitude to the Government for being a wonderful host to her during her tenure.

“I have experienced nothing but true separation of powers. I thank the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines,” she said.
