Karla Gellizeau to represent SVG in 53rd Annual Jaycees Queen Show in Antigua and Barbuda

First runner-up in the Miss SVG 2014 pageant Karla Gellizeau will represent St Vincent and the Grenadines at the 53rd Annual Jaycees Queen Show in Antigua and Barbuda on August 1.{{more}}

Gellizeau and her chaperone, Anique Francois, left the State on Tuesday, July 29, for the show, which will be held at the Recreation Ground, Carnival City, St John’s at 8 p.m.

Thirteen countries will compete for the title, which is presently held by Leslassa Armour Shillingford of Dominica, who was also crowned Miss Carival 2013.

The participating countries and their representatives are: Miss Antigua and Barbuda; Miss Anguilla – Amethyst Davis; Miss BVI – Rosanna Katherine Chichester; Miss Dominica – Francine Baron; Miss Dominican Republic – Talisbeth Cabrera Fortuna; Miss Guyana – Alicia Bess; Miss Haiti – Gaelle Cazeau; Miss Montserrat – Tazia Briscoe – Jarrett; Miss St Kitts and Nevis – Kaeve Armstrong; Miss St Lucia – Amy Louise Stephen; Miss SVG – Karla Gellizeau; Miss Trinidad and Tobago – Denille N.S. St. Cyr; Miss USA – Stephanie Mills.

Contestants will be judged in four categories: Interview – 60 points; Swimwear – 50 points; Talent – 50 points; Evening wear and modelling skills – 60 points, for a total of 220 points.

Gellizeau and Francois are expected to return to the State on Sunday, August 3 on LIAT 361 at 11.05 a.m.
