Columbus to review channels, pricing, content structure

The channel line up, pricing and content structure of the basic cable television package being offered here, by Columbus, is being reviewed.{{more}}

John Reid, president and chief operating officer, in a letter to Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves said the review would be done based on feedback from Gonsalves, customers and other stakeholders.

The company has also said country manager of Columbus, Christopher Gordon, will reach out to Senator Camillo Gonsalves and other stakeholders from the Ministry, the NTRC and Invest SVG to “schedule a meeting to develop a framework and identify priorities for social development collaborations.”

Reid’s letter to Gonsalves followed a courtesy meeting between the two on July 22. He also said he took note of the Prime Minister’s thoughts on “how Columbus entered St Vincent and the Grenadines.”

“I can assure you that it was not our intention to sidestep any regulatory requirements, or to disrespect your office. My personal commitment is to work tirelessly to prove that Columbus not only ‘plays by the rules’ but is a company that considers its industry participation a privilege and not a right.”
