The announcement of the Scholarship was made yesterday on the New Times Programme by President of the NDP Arnhim Eustace.
Eustace said the scholarship was established in recognition of Lynchâs “ardent love for learning and his own personal pursuit of Secondary education at a time when poverty excluded him from the halls of a Secondary School.”
The scholarship will be awarded for a five-year period to a primary school student who has matriculated into Secondary School.
A release from the NDP said the successful candidate’s education will be financed by the NDP starting in the new school year 2014.
Persons interested in the scholarship should send applications to the EG Lynch Secondary School Scholarship, NDP Headquarters, Murray’s Road, Kingstown VC0100.
The deadline for receiving Applications is Friday August 8, 2014.
