Additionally, the Government of SVG has committed to provide English language training for Ecuadorian teachers, and work will commence to implement a student exchange programme between both countries.

The Government of Ecuador also awarded Prime Minister Gonsalves the National Order of Merit (the highest civilian honour in Ecuador) for his “outstanding work in building solidarity between Latin America and the Caribbean.”

On Wednesday, the Prime Minister and his delegation were taken on a tour of the Galapagos Islands, which included stops at the National Park and the Biological Marine Reserve.

Also part of the delegation are Eloise Gonsalves, wife of the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Camillo Gonsalves and Andreas Wickham, ambassador to Venezuela. The delegation is expected to return on July 13. (JV)
