A committee, which includes representatives from the Department of Culture, the Kingstown Cruise Terminal, and other partners, is working to stage the event, which showcases international cuisine and local craft.
âWe aim to expose the many foods from around the world that can be had in our country. We also wish to give our local craftspersons the opportunity to exhibit and sell their wares. A package including indigenous Vincentian folk cultural elements will comprise the entertainment of the programme. Fun activities to cater to the involvement of children will also be part of the Festival,â a release from the organizers said.
The Cultural Festival will take place on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 at the Cruise Ship Berth. It begins at 12 noon daily and culminates at 7 p.m.
âWith last yearâs inaugural Festival having been such a success, the stage is now set to present a more innovative and enhanced programme this year. We are making this event an annual outreach to the local population as well as to those persons who visit during the Carnival period.â
Admission to the event is $2.00 for adults.
