736 SVGCC students graduate today

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College will hold its fifth Annual Graduation and Awards Ceremony at 2 p.m. today at the Victoria Park.{{more}}

Seven hundred and thirty six students from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, Division of Teacher Education, Division of Technical and Vocational Education and Division of Nursing Education will graduate after completing various programmes at the College.

Also at this year’s ceremony, the first cohort of fulltime Associate Degree students from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, along with a cohort from the evening programme at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education will graduate.

The theme for the graduation is “Education Unlocks Potential; Dreams Become Reality.”

The featured speaker is Tamira Browne, Caricom youth ambassador and graduate teacher at the Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia.

Other brief addresses will be delivered by the chair of the Board of Governors, St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Dr Simone Keizer-Beache, the director of Colleges (Ag) – Laura Browne and Nicole Bonadie-Barker, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.

Prior to the commencement of the graduation ceremony, faculty and students will process from Bishops College, Kingstown through Paul’s Avenue, turn right onto Back Street and continue to Victoria Park via Bentick Square. The procession will be accompanied by the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Band.
