Police awaiting file on Registrar – Commissioner
It is too early to say if criminal charges will be brought against former registrar of the High Court Tamara Gibson-Marks, says Commissioner of Police Michael Charles.
In an interview on Wednesday, Charles said the police are still awaiting a report from Director of Audit{{more}} Dahalia Sealey, to decide what will be their next move.
“It is too early now to say. That would depend on what the Director of Audit finds. It is too early now to see if she would be brought back. It is too early to pre-empt that,â Charles told SEARCHLIGHT.
Gibson-Marks, who had been registrar for about six years, resigned on Wednesday, May 21, after being asked to do so by Attorney General Judith Jones-Morgan.
According to a usually reliable source, the attorney general requested Gibson-Markâs resignation during a meeting, which lasted for approximately half an hour on May 21. Following that meeting, SEARCHLIGHT understands that Gibson-Marks left the country, and is now said to be in her country of birth, St Lucia.
Commissioner Charles also confirmed that Station Sergeant Trevor Bailey will lead the investigation.
“Other than the Director of Audit, Station Sergeant Bailey was earmarked to head the investigation,â Charles said.
