Vincentian Lion Isaac Solomon MJF is Sub-District 60B Governor-elect

Vincentian Lion Isaac Solomon MJF was overwhelmingly elected as the new district governor of Sub-District 60B at the just concluded 34th Multiple District 60 Convention at the Torarica Hotel and Casino in Suriname from May 14 to 18, 2014.{{more}}

District 60 is comprised of Lions and Leo clubs in Districts 60 A and B. The Lions and Leo clubs of St Vincent and the Grenadines are part of District 60 B, which stretches from Cayman in the north to Grenada in the south.

Lion Isaac has been a member of the Lions Club South since 1996 and has held several positions within his club, zone, and district. He has served as director for many years, secretary, treasurer and has held the post of president on two consecutive occasions. In 2004, he served as zone chair of 3C and as region chair for Region 3 in 2009 and has held other Cabinet positions such as leadership chair for Zone 3C.

In his acceptance speech, district governor- elect Lion Isaac said “I embrace the responsibility you have just thrusted upon me with all humility. It is a very humbling moment in my life just to have the overwhelming support of all of you, year after year since this journey began for me. I take very seriously the trust you have placed in me and I am duty bound to re-affirm your faith.”

Lion Isaac describes his theme: “Get on Board: Building a path to Service Excellence, as an ideal where we maximize our relevance to the community we serve; where the membership experience is second to none; where the Lions Ethics to which we subscribe are engrained in our DNA.” Cancer Awareness and Action, Drug, Alcohol Abuse and Addiction, Public Relations and Lions Information, Youth development, Environment/ Climate Change are among his core areas for the new lionistic year, which begins on July 1.

Lion Isaac is a banker by occupation and currently serves as the managing director for RBC/RBTT in the Eastern Caribbean. He is a forensic accountant by profession, being the holder of both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations. His varied educational background also includes a MSc in Finance from the University of London and a BSc (Hons) in Management from the University of the West Indies.

Lion Isaac has been described as “a very dependable and reliable Lion who stops at nothing to improve the lot of the needy, disadvantaged and unfortunate in our community. He has a deep appreciation for the circumstances of the people we serve and is a valuable resource to the Lions Movement; simply put Lion Isaac is a model lion.”

Lion Isaac will be officially installed as district governor at the Lions International Convention in Toronto, from July 4 to 8. His induction and installation will be historic, as 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of Lionism in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
