The show, dubbed âExpress Yourself,â takes place this weekend Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11, at the Peace Memorial Hall at Richmond Hill, Kingstown.
On Saturday, it begins at 7 p.m., while Sundayâs extravaganza starts at 6.30 p.m.
âI will like to say a big thank you to the sponsors, because without them the show couldnât be possible. Sponsorship is hard to come by these days, so I will like to thank companies like Digicel, who through their help is allowing the kids to do what the show says, express yourself.â
Other sponsors include SVG General Services, Kids Plus, Premium Products, IBS, BOSVG and SVG Tyres.
The show will see some 60 dancers from the troupeâs lower juniors, upper juniors and seniors entertaining patrons during two segments of dance. Each segment is made up of nine items.
The dancers to be shown are the work of choreographers Bridget John and Donna Jacob, while some of the dancers were choreographed by the dancers themselves.
Children will pay EC$20 at the door, while adults (secondary school children and above) will pay EC$25.
âOnce again thanks to all the sponsors and this promises to be a very entertaining evening of dance,â said John on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Marketing manager at Digicel Juno DeRoche said that Digicel is happy to assist the Avenues Dancers, as over the years the group has helped to mould young people and teach them something positive.
âWe always love to support these positive ventures, as these activities help to shape our young girls into extraordinary womenâ, said DeRoche.
The Avenues Dancers group is based in the George McIntosh Community Market in Lower Kingstown Park/Paulâs Avenue.
