KCCU launches website

The services provided by the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union are now at the fingertips of its members.{{more}}

Yesterday at the Reuben John Development Centre at the Kingstown Branch, KCCU manager Clement Lynch unveiled its long awaited website, which he said comes as the organization prepares to observe its 56th anniversary this week.

Lynch, assisted by KCCU staff member Kemuel King, gave those present at the launch a tour of the site, which he said was designed and arranged by local, regional and international partnership.

“It is a collaboration of a Vincentian/Canadian firm, MSD of Trinidad; the application builders for the system that we currently use, and of course KCCU in St Vincent together with COMPUTEC, coming together to provide us with the kind of website we feel reflects the kind of internationalism that is required in today’s world.

“It has the functionality, it has the modularity; it can be expanded and it has a very small footprint; you can access this using your smart phone; it is not necessary to carry an “app;” you can carry out the transactions on your smart phone,” Lynch added.

The site contains 10 pages: Home, About Us, Services, Investments, Outreach, Resources, Online Services, News, Gallery, and Contact.

Speaking at the launch, Jerome Deshong, the current president of the KCCU, said that the launch of the website was not only timely, but also offers a product that is practical and convenient for its members.

“These web services offer our members functionalities of making payments to essential utility companies, the viewing of account status, printing your account details, requesting cheques, transfers between accounts, request of embassy letters, loan application and calculation of loan payments are among the many prime capabilities offered by our web services.

“This addition quite naturally adds to a more comprehensive palette of services KCCU offers its members to better serve them.

“The journey of enhanced services to our members, which we believe would contribute to a holistic development of our people both local and foreign.”
