ScotiaBank honours Maloney

For her outstanding contribution towards the development of women and children in St Vincent and the Grenadines, former broadcaster Nina Maloney was awarded with a plaque by ScotiaBank, Wednesday, March 12.{{more}}

As part of International Women’s Day, which was celebrated on March 8, and supporting a local initative that addresses philanthropic work, the bank not only honoured Maloney, but a cheque of $2,000 was also donated to the St Vincent Children’s Welfare Fund, of which Maloney is a foundation member.

The Fund was started back in the 1970’s by the late Sir Rupert John, then Governor. It is now headed by current Governor General, Sir Frederick Ballantyne.

Speaking at the brief ceremony at the bank, Maloney thanked ScotiaBank for considering her for the award and for donating to the Children’s Welfare Fund.

“We are indeed very grateful for your contribution and I can assure you that it will be well used and will help to serve all the children throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines,” Maloney said.
