Social Entrepreneur Ashley C. John, executive director of Constructive Solutions Inc and Young Entrepreneurs,{{more}} Kay Dawn Fergusson of ValKelly Investments and Elroy Foster of Debique Acres paid a courtesy call on Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Jasmine Hull and Youth Officer Anastacia Harry of the Youth Affairs Department to say thank you for the valued support they received in 2013, which helped them to develop their respective youth enterprises.

“Team SVG” took along the Most Informative Award, Best Quality and Best Product Awards won at the recent 6th Annual Caribbean Conference, on “Sustainable Livelihoods through Entrepreneurship” held in Linstead, Jamaica, December 9-11, 2013.

Special thanks were also extended to local stakeholder the Centre for Enterprise Development and regional partner the Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (based in Barbados) for their much needed support towards creating entrepreneurial citizens, and taking development to the community.

Plans were discussed by John for a 2014 programme of development of youth locally in entrepreneurship, which will include a survey, a one-day seminar, a three-day retreat, participation in community entrepreneurship, and exhibitions locally and regionally.

Permanent Secretary Hull and Youth Officer Harry expressed their full satisfaction with the progress of the Youth in Entrepreneurship initiative so far, noting that both young entrepreneurs were also 2013 winners of National Youth Awards, and the collaboration between Constructive Solutions Inc, the Youth Affairs Department and the Centre for Enterprise Development.

They said they look forward to continue working to help, in any way possible, other young people in the development of their business interests across St Vincent and the Grenadines.
