Health Ministry schedules meetings

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is currently developing a National Action Programme (NAP) for Combating Land Degradation and Drought, as well as a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan for St Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}
The Ministry would be holding meetings in a series of consultations at the following place, date and time:
Venue: Vermont, Vermont Community Centre
Date: 5th March, 2014 Time: 5:30 PM
Venue: Rose Bank, Prayer and Faith Assembly
Date: 6th March, 2014 Time: 4 PM
Venue: Layou, Layou Learning Resource
Date:11th March, 2014 Time: 5:30 PM
Venue: Mesopotamia, Mesopotamia Community Centre Date: 12th March, 2014 Time: 5 PM
Venue: Sandy Bay, Sandy Bay Seventh Day Adventist Church Date: 13th March, 2014 Time: 3 PM
The consultations/meetings are geared at community involvement in the development of these plans and will be facilitated by local environmentalist Dr Reynold Murray.
The consultations/meetings aim to build awareness of the issues relating to land degradation, drought, and biodiversity conservation, the sustainable use of these resources, their threats and possible solutions. Most importantly, it will seek to gain public feedback on these issues and to solicit suggestions for possible solutions to these issues in order to facilitate the implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification/Land degradation (UNCCD) and the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD) at the national level.
Residents of these communities should make a concerted effort to attend these meeting and to be on time.
