In her remarks, headteacher of the school Grocina Richards emphasized the importance of reading in this digitalized era. She encouraged the students to make use of every opportunity available to them to enhance their reading skills as this will enable them to function well in society.

To honour the memory of a deceased teacher, Victor Decoteau, his sister Joy Decoteau-John handed over four bookshelves to the school.

The Literacy Committee, headed by co-ordinator Sheril-ann Woods, hosted three days of activities to celebrate the annual reading event. These included Community Reading, Fruit Basket Distribution, Standard English Day and a Tree Planting Exercise.
