Cheques of $1,000 each were handed over to the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) and the Red Cross Society.

The Bethel High School Past Students Association also received a cheque of $640.43

Chair of the Police Welfare Association, Sergeant Brenton Smith said, although they have already contributed to the relief effort, they felt that more could be done to help those in need.

“We are pleased to continue the support to these persons who are affected. We felt our first contribution was just not enough so we wanted to do this,” he said.
