At the recent distribution of fridges, stoves, gas cylinders and mattresses, Julian Francis, the chair of the distribution exercise, lauded the company for its contribution.

Francis, also the Minister of Transport and Works, informed the residents of Spring Village, that the purchaser of the appliances, Dennis O’Brien of Digicel, received “very good” discounts from Courts.

Courts country manager Michelle Samuel pointed out that the company was happy to contribute in any way, to get Vincentians back on their feet after the December rains and floods.

“Courts is pleased to be able to assist our countrymen who are in need, and we are always willing to do so, and happy to be a part of this effort,” Samuel said.

Apart from the 11 cubic foot MABE fridges and 30 inch, six burner MABE stoves, Courts also gave out free refill vouchers for cooking gas, that were redeemable at Trevor Alexander in Spring Village.

On Thursday last week, MABE and Frigidare fridges from Courts were distributed in Vermont, while 75 pillows were handed out in South Rivers last Friday – even though Courts was not one of the retailers used in that area, and on Tuesday this week, single and double mattresses from Courts were delivered to individuals and families in Coulls Hill, Troumaca and Chateaubelair.

Courts senior marketing officer Alexis John said that Courts extends its sincere thanks to Dennis O’Brien of The Digicel Group and the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines for making the relief and rebuilding process easier for those affected by the December storms.

“Our main goal is to help our brothers and sisters who are in dire need of assistance. We decided that we needed to go beyond a good discount rate that was extended to the Government, and gave free gas refills on 20-pound cylinders; and the people of South Rivers sleep on pillows absolutely free.

“We are once again appealing to our many affected customers with outstanding credit balances, whose products got damaged during the recent floods, to visit our credit department. If you have shopped on the following credit plans – Silver, Gold & Ultimate, there is help for you,” John added.
