SDA Church ordains two pastors

Pastors Brent St Jean and Shane Franklyn of the local Seventh-day Adventist Church were ordained to full Gospel Ministry according to the usages of the SDA Church in a very impressive and solemn service held at the Arnos Vale Playing Field on Saturday, January 25, 2014.{{more}}

The occasion brought colleagues, families, friends, leaders, members and well wishers together for holy convocation, under the theme, “Embracing the Dream of Spiritual Formation in 2014”. The dedication sermon was presented by Dr Kern Tobias, president of the Caribbean Union Conference of SDA while the prayer of consecration was done by Dr Clinton Valley, president of the University of the Southern Caribbean. The charge was given by Pastor Andrew Farrel, Ministerial Secretary of the Caribbean Union while Pastor Dermoth Baptiste, president of the local SDA Church welcomed the ordinands into full Gospel Ministry.

Pastor Franklyn has seven years in ministry and holds a BA degree in Theology and an MSc degree in Counselling Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. He currently serves the South Leeward district which comprises the congregations of Questelles, Good News at Campden Park, Maranatha at Block 2000 and Ottley Hall. Pastor St Jean holds a BA degree in Theology and an MA degree in Religion with an emphasis on Theological and New Testament Studies and currently serves the Southern district which comprises the congregations of Mt Moriah at Prospect, Glen, Choppins and Stubbs. The SVG Mission of SDA has congratulated the ministers and wished them great success as they continue to give full proof of their ministry.
