The Customs Department will commemorate this occasion with a week of activities from January 26 – February 1 2014. This week of activities would begin with a church service which officers would attend in full uniform. Various officers would also be honoured and a number of schools would be visited, among other events.

For Customs Worldwide, 2014 is the year of Communication. The department is willing to do more to elevate awareness of the vital role Customs plays in international trade, revenue collection, border security and economic competitiveness.

Continuous improvements through modernization are a permanent feature of SVG Customs. This is reflected in our move from ASYCUDA ++ to ASYCUDA World. The introduction of the Gold Card initiative also highlights our drive to strengthen the partnership with our stakeholders and the business community while improving our customer service. The department also recently launched our website www.customs.gov.vc giving us the opportunity to increase communication with our stakeholders and the general public.

The recognition of customs officers and the contribution the department makes in keeping our communities safe and prosperous has always been an important feature of International Customs Day. It is also an occasion to acknowledge those agencies that work together with Customs to enhance legitimate trade and thus, protect our nation.

The SVG Customs and Excise Department would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients, stakeholders and staff for their support and cooperation.
