Schools in Zone A will be judged today at the National Insurance Services’ (NIS) main conference room on the third floor of the NIS Building from 10 a.m. Schools in this zone are the St Vincent Girls’ High School, the St Vincent Grammar School, the Intermediate High School, the North Union Secondary and Thomas Saunders Secondary School.

Tomorrow, the Bequia Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School will be judged at that school from 1 p.m. The Leeward zone includes presentations from the Barrouallie Secondary, the St Martin’s Secondary and the Petit Bordel Secondary School, and they will be judged at the Barrouallie Learning Resource Centre on Thursday, from 10 a.m. Presentations from the Union Island Secondary School will be judged at that school on Friday from 1 p.m.

The NTRC is hosting the competition in partnership with the National Insurance Services (NIS), Searchlight, the Ministry of Education and the Centre for Enterprise Development (CED).

A release from the NTRC says through this intiative, it hopes to tap into the students’ creativity by challenging them to develop and present projects in the form of ideas and mobile applications that can implement new or improve existing systems in the current departments within the public service of St Vincent and the Grenadines and other state agencies that provide services to the public. Such improvements can lead to cost savings or result in the faster delivery of such service.
