Michael Charles has been appointed Commissioner of Police, effective November 1, 2013 {{more}}

Charles was appointed acting commissioner on July 16, 2013, when former commissioner Keith Miller proceeded on pre-retirement leave.

The career policeman joined the local constabulary on February 28, 1981, and has worked in various units of the police force, including long stints in the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Narcotics Division (Drug Squad).

Also with effect from November 1, 2013, Christopher Benjamin has been appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police.
