All complaints against police will be investigated – Commissioner

Police commissioner Michael Charles is assuring persons making complaints to the Police Public Relations and Complaints Department that their complaints will be investigated.{{more}}

This assurance came from the top cop recently at a ceremony, which marked the 15th anniversary of that department.

“Some people have a problem with police investigating police and that is what the Public Relations Department is for,” Charles said.

“When you have a complaint against a police officer, you go and report at the department, so the police will be investigating it.”

According to Charles, there are records to show that police officers were taken before the court through the Public Relations and Complaints Department.

“Even if you are not satisfied with the outcome from the department, there’s always the police oversight committee that you can go and seek redress,” Charles stated.(KW)
