Angel Tree Project brings Christmas cheer to 58 children of inmates

Fifty-eight children of inmates of Her Majesty’s Prisons Kingstown and Fort Charlotte, as well as the Belle Isle Correctional Facility, have been presented with gifts from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Prison Fellowship.{{more}}

The presentation, which took place at the Chebar Evangelical Assembly at Rose Place on Monday, formed part of the fourth hosting of the Angel Tree Project, in which the group reaches out to the children of the men and women behind bars.

Gifts for the presentation were provided by LIME, Courts, SVG Tire, SVG Sales and Services, ECGC, Jax, and Optipharm Eye Centre.

The children received food, toys, clothing and other items.

SVG Prison Fellowship is a non profit organization that ministers and offers counselling to current and past inmates, as well as persons on the fringe of society, and caters to the families of inmates.(JJ)
