Prison concert 2013 set for Sunday

The stage is set for this year’s hosting of the annual prison concert.

A slate of guest artistes will accompany as many as 17 inmates from Her Majesty’s Prison at Kingstown, Fort Charlotte, and the Belle Isle Correctional Facility at the event, which takes place this Sunday at the yard of the courthouse in Kingstown.{{more}}

Artistes such as the LIME Vincy Soca Dans, the South East Steel Orchestra and the Police Drama Club are expected to be in attendance at the show, which is set to begin at 3 p.m.

The prison concert will bring the curtains down on a week of activities that was held here by the prison authorities, beginning on Sunday with a praise and worship session. Other activities included an open house, in which the general public was invited to visit the facilities in Kingstown and Belle Isle; a debate and a health fair.

An exhibition put on by the inmates is scheduled to take place today, at the entrance to Her Majesty’s Prison, Kingstown.
