Vincentian singers and dancers onboard for Youth Fest 2013

Four Vincentian singers and one dance troupe are preparing to travel to St Lucia to compete in the 10th anniversary of the Annual Caribbean Youth Fest.{{more}}

Reigning Soca Monarch Skinny Fabulous will be featured as the International Artiste for 2013.

The Vincentians selected to compete are Dawnlyn Bynoe and Javed Rouse in the teens (age 13 to 19) category. Karrel “Koko” Greaves and Brian Maloney will represent St Vincent and The Grenadines in the twenties (age 20 to 29) category. The four Vincentians will come up against sixteen St Lucians for attractive cash prizes, plus the grand Youth Star cheque of $10,000 for the overall winner of the contest. In the dancing segment, Breakstorm Crew will face off against three St Lucian dance troupes for the cash prize of $2,000.

In the Soca Monarch Party segment of the show, reigning Monarch Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle is expected to deliver a memorable performance, alongside St Lucian Giants Mongstar, Marie-Ann and reigning Soca Monarch Ricky-T.

In order to facilitate the participation of Vincentians, the M V Gemstar has been chartered to transport the artistes, dancers and their supporters to St Lucia on December 22. The all-inclusive return boat trip is priced at EC$95.00. This price includes entry to the show. The vessel departs St Vincent at 7 a.m. and returns in time for Nine Mornings.
