Vincentian awarded with MBE by Queen Elizabeth II

Jannett Williams-Creese MBE, SRN, BA (Hons) was born and brought up in Calliaqua, St Vincent. Her parents were the late Daniel and Luenda Williams of Glen.{{more}}

She left St Vincent to train as a nurse in England, where she still resides after 54 years. She moved from London and has been living in Stockport for the past 41 years.

Jannett has been involved in community work for several years after retiring from nursing. She has been awarded the MBE in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Her work involves promoting community cohesion through initiatives such as Black History Month, long standing commitment to Victim Support in Stockport and is the founder of the Sunshine Circle, which is a group for older African and Caribbean people.

Jannett received her medal from the Queen on October 10, 2013.
