Frederick elected PRO of NDP once again

Executive elections at the New Democratic Party convention on Sunday have seen Senator Vynnette Frederick returned to her post of public relations officer of the party.{{more}}

Frederick was elected unopposed to the post she held from 2006 to 2012, after the incumbent Ernesto Cooke opted not to seek re-election.

Cooke, the host of the New Times Radio programme heard on NICE Radio, informed the convention that he would instead be focusing on his role as radio host.

All other executive members were returned to their posts, including chair Senator Linton Lewis, who was in a tie at the end of the voting between him and Member of Parliament Daniel Cummings.

Cummings opted not to contest a run-off, automatically returning Lewis as chair.

The other returning members of the executive are Arnhim Eustace, president; Godwin Friday and St Clair Leacock, vice presidents; general secretary Allan Cruickshank; treasurer Bernard Mills, and deputy general secretary Doris McIntosh.
