Five youths shot at Cane End

The Police are on the hunt for the person or persons responsible for shooting five people at the Cane End Playing Field on Sunday night.

According to a police report, Omarie Thomas, 16 years old, of Freeland was wounded on his right leg; Oranique McKenzie, a 16-year-old student of Mt Pleasant was wounded on his left arm; Travis Mapp, an unemployed 18-year-old of Evesham was wounded in his back; Nicholas James, a 34-year-old labourer of Mesopotamia was wounded on his left hand and Cassanique Dowers, 23 years old, unemployed, of Sayers, was grazed by a bullet on his back.

The report indicates that Mapp and Thomas were both taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

The incident took place on the final day of the 2013 Marriaqua football competition.(DD)
