The vehicle was up for grabs in the raffle conducted by the Returning Nationals of St Vincent and the Grenadines, as part of fund-raising efforts for the Argyle international airport.
Lewisâ name was on the winning ticket picked during the October 28 draw.
Nyoka Clouden of the Returning Nationals, speaking at the handover, which took place at the Star Garage compound at Richmond Hill, indicated that the raffle was the fourth Argyle international airport fund-raiser that the group had undertaken, and thanked Mustique Airways, who provided the vehicle, as well as Y De Lima for the donation of a four burner stove that was up for second place, and Hotel Alexandrina, for their donation of the third prize, a three-night stay at the hotel.
The stove was won by Maureen Jennings of Ottley Hall, while T. Glynn Bonadie of Belair was the winner of the third prize.
Marcus Dabriel, operations manager of Mustique Airways, joined in congratulating the grand prize winner, and said that his company was pleased to work along with the group in pulling off the event, and that he looked forward to future initiatives with the group.
The man of the moment told SEARCHLIGHT that his father was the person who actually purchased the ticket from an employee of the International Airport Development Company, and wrote his name on it.
He used the opportunity to thank his father for the opportunity to own a brand new vehicle, which he said would be staying in the family.
âOwning a brand new vehicle is a very big deal, and I am very grateful for that,â Lewis said.(JJ)
