Sharpes man chopped to death in Canouan

A 26-year-old resident of Redemption Sharpes has become this country’s 26th homicide victim.{{more}}

Hasron Glasgow, a labourer working on the Grenadine island of Canouan, was pronounced dead at the Canouan clinic just before midnight on November 1, after sustaining chop wounds about his body.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that the man was asleep at his residence in a village called Balance, when he was attacked by two men. According to a police source, the young man had been involved in an altercation earlier that day.

Police indicated that the matter is still being investigated, and so far no one has been arrested or charged.

Meanwhile, here on the mainland, another labourer, Shafique Wilson, 27, of Lowmans Hill, is at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, nursing gunshot wounds to the stomach, after being shot on Saturday.

Police are also investigating that incident.(JJ)
